13 Cowboy Sayings You Should Remember

13 Best Cowboy Sayings
by Jacquie Rogers
One of the most fun things in life is Cowboy Adages.  I guess it's because most of the time, they had way too much time to think.
  1. Never drop your gun to hug a grizzly.
  2. The biggest troublemaker you'll probably ever have to deal with watches you shave his face in the mirror every morning.
  3. If you're ridin' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there with you.
  4. Any cowboy can carry a tune. The trouble comes when he tries to unload it.
  5. The quickest way to double your money is to fold it over and put it back into your pocket.
  6. Talk slowly, think quickly.
  7. When you begin a cattle drive you can't expect to say you are finished until you have visited a fancy woman and played some games of chance. ~ Wild Bill Hickok
  8. There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence. ~ Will Rogers
  9. Any cowboy can carry a tune. The trouble comes when he tries to unload it.
  10. Never kick a cow patty on a hot day.
  11. Don’t wake a sleepin’ rattler.
  12. Never give your Horse more attention than your wife, unless you like sleeping in the barn.
  13. The bigger a man's gun the smaller his doodlewick. ~ Calamity Jane
Bonus: because I love a good simile:
Careful as a naked man climbin' a barbed wire fence
