Chicken Dinner: Holiday Reading and Sinful Recipes

by Jacquie Rogers

Not to shake up your world or anything, but I ran across this article by Paisley Kirkpatrick called Who Really Wrote "The Night Before Christmas?" You think Clement Moore? Um, maybe you should read this. There's always something good at Sweethearts of the West.

We're in the midst of the holiday season and what's more important than food? Okay, lots of things are but the holidays wouldn't be the same without the family gathered around a feast. So Michelle McCleod came up with the idea of a recipe blog hop. Just follow the links at the bottom of the page and get recipe after recipe! I posted Grandma's Guaranteed-to-put-you-in-a-sugar-coma Pumpkin Bread. It's so delicious! Should be illegal.

Caroline Clemmon's Fudge
Oh, Fudge! And Divinity, too! Yep, you know that's what Caroline Clemmons blogged about. I'm gonna give her recipes a try, then diet for six years. Twelve years if I have the aforementioned pumpkin bread. The pictures on Pass the Fudge, Please, will make your mouth water. Get out your saucepan and for it.

Romancing The West has a newsletter. I have no idea why, but it was there so I signed up. Romancing The West News comes out ever Sunday until I change it. It's a collection of news items from my friends on Twitter. Pretty cool. The Western Online has one, too, so you should hunt for that one.  If I knew how to find it, I'd tell you, but I don't so that will have to wait for another Chicken Dinner.

Contest Winners!

We had three winners this week thanks to the generosity of this weeks Romancing The West featured author, Celia Yeary. In case you missed her visit, check out her article on Judge Roy Bean and the interview with Celia about her western romance, Texas True.

The winners get to pick out one of three books (pdf) they want: Texas True, Texans Promise, or Angel and the Cowboy. So who are the lucky commenters?
